High School District 211 has 20 students that were awarded prestigious National Merit Scholarships for their outstanding academic and extracurricular accomplishments.
Scholarships are based off of corporate-sponsored awards financed by roughly 200 corporations, company foundations, and other business organizations. To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship, semifinalists had to fulfill requirements to advance to finalist standing, including high test scores on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, or PSAT.

Bob Bregy, former High School District 211 mail room supervisor and now retiree, was the March 2012 recipient of Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization's Shining Star Award. He was recognized for going above and beyond in his role as a community partner at a NSSEO work experience site. The SHS Debate Team captured the Illinois High School Association State Debate Title during competition at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., on March 16 and 17. Senior Kali Froh, a varsity four-year debater, led the charge into the final round to help claim the championship in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
Township High School District 211 was recognized with a "Sunny Award" from the Sunshine Review on March 8, 2012. The award honors the most transparent government web sites in the country, and District 211 was one of 19 honorees in Illinois, which included 7 school districts. This is the second consecutive year that District 211 has been honored with the award.

The mission of the High School District 211 Foundation is to obtain and provide resources to enhance and enrich learning opportunities for the students, staff, and school community of Township High School District 211.
The Foundation recently awarded nearly $25,000 in Innovation Grants to District 211 teachers and staff for the development of ideas, programs, and practices benefiting students in District 211 that are not funded from the district budget.
