To get fifth and sixth grade girls interested in the fields of mathematics, science, and engineering before they enter high school, High School District 211 hosted its annual program that teaches them about careers in those fields. Schaumburg High School Charity Soup Event Provides Tasty Way to Give Back to Community

Each year, Schaumburg High School’s Chemistry of Foods classroom is transformed into a charitable restaurant that serves hearty homemade soups for a cause. Students, staff, and some community members attended the ninth annual Chemistry of Foods and Cool Beans Soup Charity Event on Nov. 30. All donations benefited the Elgin Community Crisis Center and the SHS Magic Closet. In an effort to remind individuals to drive responsibly and the dangers of getting behind the wheel while intoxicated, three District 211 schools recently hosted a music and dance festival to raise funds toward Operation Snowball groups. The percussion studio at Schaumburg High School will present "Take That," their annual Night of Percussion on April 30 at 7 p.m. The concert will feature all four percussion ensembles, SaxonSTOMP, the System Red Drumline, and several percussion soloists. Students will be performing on everything from drums to basketballs. Delicious Success at Cupcakes for a Cause

Hours of baking more than 9,000 Cupcakes that resembled shapes of flowers and characters like the Cookie Monster paid off as the delicious works of art raised money for autism awareness.  Community members collaborated for Cupcakes for a Cause at Hoffman Estates High School, and raised more than $13,000 for the Schaumburg chapter of Autism Speaks, with $3500  of that going to Special Olympics and Best Buddies Clubs, on April 7. The best singers from Township High School District 211 will combine their voices for the 211 Honors Choir concert on Saturday, April 14 at Holy Family Church in Inverness.
