Conant High School’s Booster Club is hosting its Third Annual Cougar Dinner Dance to raise funds that benefit the school, as well as recognize individuals who support programs and students in outstanding ways.

The event will take place on March 1 at The Seville Banquet Hall in Streamwood, 700 S. Barrington Rd., from 6 to 11 p.m.  Tickets are $65 per person, open to the community, and available for adults only. All of the proceeds will benefit students at Conant High School through contributions to individual programs or senior scholarships.

“Last year, we awarded more than $20,000 to student activities and $10,000 to student scholarships,” said Dominice Einig, co-president of the CHS Booster Club. “This is a worthwhile event and it really reaches each and every Conant student.”

Student musicians will perform during cocktail hour and Conant’s Improv Troupe will perform before dinner.  After dinner, the local band Flyte, which is composed of former Conant students, will perform and provide music to dance to. Additionally, there will be raffles and auctions. Among this year’s raffle prizes is a three-day and two-night trip to Las Vegas, which includes a stay at a hotel of choice.

Recognitions also are a part of the event. Each year, a Super Cougar Award is given to an outstanding member of the Conant High School community. This year’s recipient will be Eric Jacobsen, a Social Studies teacher and coach at the school. New this year is the Outstanding Community Partner award. This is being awarded to Katy Garcia, owner of Ricardo’s Ristorante. Einig said Garcia has done a lot for students at Conant High School, including extensive generosity with the Cougars in Need program.

“These recipients are members of the CHS staff and community who stand out as exceptional role models for students, for their character, contributions to the community, and going above and beyond the call of duty,” Einig said. “It’s fabulous that there are so many people who stand out.”

Tickets are still available for the event. Anyone interested in attending should complete a registration form located on the Booster Club’s website. For any questions or for additional information, please contact .
