High School District 211 encourages the safest learning environment possible; this includes providing resources for students, teachers, and parents to know how to respond when someone has a medical emergency.

At each District 211 school students earn their CPR/AED certification in health classes. Additionally, every District 211 building is equipped with an AED defibrillator and a device is present at both indoor and outdoor athletic events.

While nothing can truly substitute for in-person training and everyone is encouraged to take a certified CPR course, the video posted below covers the basics of life-saving CPR techniques. The Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois High School Association sponsors the training video that ensures individuals are aware of CPR techniques and prepared for a possible emergency.
