D211 Post: District 211 to Host Sale of Surplus Vehicles and Equipment

            As approved by the Board of Education, High School District 211 will hold a blind auction of 16 surplus vehicles and a baby grand piano. The vehicles include five Ford Tauruses, eight Chevy Impalas 2 Ford vans and a Dodge pick-up truck.

All vehicles will be available for viewing and inspection April 13, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Palatine High School football parking lot.  In the event of inclement weather, the alternate date for the viewing and inspection will be April 14.  Vehicles questions should be directed via email to Diana Mikelski, director of transportation, at dmikelski@d211.org.

The Mason & Hamlin baby grand piano will be available for viewing by appointment only in the district’s warehouse located behind the G.A. McElroy Administration Building (1750 S. Roselle Rd. Those wishing to submit a bid can do so by downloading the bid form from the District 211 website.  Instructions on filling out bid forms and images of the items are also available on the website.  All bids must be received in a sealed envelope no later than 11:00 a.m. on April 24.  No electronic bids will be accepted.  Questions about the bidding process should be directed via email to Barb Peterson, controller and treasurer, at bpeterson@d211.org.

Please note that all items will be sold in “as is” condition without any warranty of merchantability or implied warranty for fitness for a particular purpose.  All sales are final.  Winning bidders will be notified during the week of April 26, and upon notification, must arrange for payment and pick up within seven days.
