Fourth Annual Fundraiser to Benefit Homeless District 211 Students
For many students in District 211, challenges start outside of the classroom. One of those challenges includes students and families that are homeless. To help, Realtors Against Homelessness (R.A.H.) works to provide fundraising opportunities and events throughout the year.
R.A.H., in partnership with the District 211 Foundation, is hosting the fourth annual event to support homeless students. The event is at Schaumburg’s Chandler’s, 401 N. Roselle Rd., on Nov. 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $40 each. The event is open to the public.
“We are fortunate to live and work in such a caring community,” said Cindy Eich, a member of RAH. “People are often surprised to learn that there are students facing homelessness in our area, but their response to our efforts has been heartwarming. Our committee is working hard to make our 2014 event our best one yet.”
The 2014 RAH event will be a fun-filled night with members of the real estate and school communities, along with residents of the District 211 area. Guests will enjoy food, will receive a drink ticket, and have access to incredible auction items, camaraderie, networking and more.
R.A.H. (Realtors Against Homelessness) is partnered with the District 211 Foundation, and the shared commitment to help homeless students resulted in annual fundraising events. Since 2011, more than $50,000 has been raised to support students facing homelessness in the area. Funds are used to provide transportation, clothing, school supplies, grocery cards and other goods and opportunities that help these students to experience high school as they would have enjoyed it before they became homeless.
Realtors Against Homelessness Committee includes brokers from multiple real estate offices and companies: Cindy Eich, Marty Eich, Sue Gould, Maureen Brand, Basel Tarabein, Gail Bergstrom, Maria Radwan, Sandie Bobus, Stephanie Szigetvari and Greg Smith.
