Conant High School Alumnus Honored for Board of Education Military Recognition

District 211 has a tradition to honor alumni for the service they have given to their country. Army Specialist Jakub Bursynski, a 2015 graduate of Conant High School, was honored and thanked for his service by the Board of Education at its Nov. 15 meeting. Bursynski is the 10th alumnus to be recognized for his service, and started the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Bursynski enlisted in the Army in 2014 and completed basic training in the summer of 2014, between his junior and senior high school years. Schaumburg High School Alumnus Honored for Board of Education Military Recognition

Recently, District 211 started a new tradition to honor alumni for the service they have given to their country. Schaumburg High School Alumnus and Private First Class Leon Dixon was honored and thanked for his service in the National Guard by the Board of Education at its Jan. 15 meeting. Dixon is the third alumnus to be recognized for his service and started the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Dixon completed boot camp in August 2013. From there, he completed Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
