Hoffman Estates High School P.I.E. Students Launch ‘Bake My Day’ Bakery

Several Hoffman Estates High School students can be spotted on Friday mornings arriving early to school, dressed in bright green t-shirts, and sporting a positive attitude that will bring several people some fresh-baked happiness to start their day. Those students are in the Principles in Entrepreneurship (P.I.E.) class and have successfully launched a Friday morning bakery called Bake My Day, which is open to faculty and staff at Hoffman Estates High School and District 211. As the first bells rang to kick-off classes in District 211 schools, students excitedly introduced themselves, cracked open the textbooks, and prepared for what is anticipated to be another successful year. Hoffman Estates High School Polar Plunge Team Earns Great Citizen Award from Mayor

Hoffman Estates High School students took an icy plunge for charity earlier this year and it didn’t go unnoticed by members of their community. Students and staff who participated in Hoffman Estates High School’s Polar Plunge team were recently recognized with a Great Citizen Award from Hoffman Estates Mayor McLeod for their charitable accomplishments. The HEHS team, Freezin’ for a Reason, joined community members in Palatine at the Twin Lakes Recreation Area during the March 3 Polar Plunge event. District 211 Ranked on Washington Post’s Top 50 Illinois School Districts List

The Washington Post has been ranking the most challenging schools in the country and the Washington D.C. region for 15 years. There are more than 1,900 schools on the America’s Most Challenging High Schools list, which are ranked by state and nationally. The Village of Hoffman Estates honored Hoffman Estates High School athletes for volunteering efforts that made an impact in their community. The varsity wrestling and cheerleading squads from Hoffman Estates High School were presented with “Great Citizens Award” from the village on April 15. These student-athletes were nominated for this honor recognizing the time they volunteered this past Valentine’s Day with residents at the Alden Poplar Creek Rehabilitation and Health Center in Hoffman Estates. Hoffman Estates High School Charity Bash Provides Thousands of Meals through Local Organization

Students at Hoffman Estates High School spent the week prior to spring break doing something other than finishing last-minute projects, dreaming of warm weather, and preparing for spring athletics. They participated in a spring charity event that benefited children. A group of fourth-year educators at HEHS decided the beginning of spring would be better spent organizing a Charity Bash. The event was created for the fourth-year teachers' project and raised more than $650 to donate to Feed My Starving Children, which helps feed children all over the world. Many students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. Many hope it will help make them stand out on a college application or make it easier to apply or earn scholarship money.
