Today marks Principal Day throughout the state of Illinois. This day is designed to recognize principals and the Illinois Principals Association for the work they do to create a successful learning environment for students across Illinois. New Head Football Coach for Cougars

Bryan Stortz has been named varsity head football coach at James B. Conant High School, effective with the 2017 season.  Stortz is currently head coach at Rock Island (Ill.) High School and will take over the Cougars head coaching responsibilities from Bill Modelski.  Modelski is retiring after 12 seasons as the Cougars head coach, with five IHSA playoff appearances. Conant High School Cougars Announce Two New Head Coaching Positions

Deirdre Naughton has been named head girls basketball coach and Drewann Pancratz has been named head girls volleyball coach at Conant High School.  Naughton will take over the program for retiring Coach Dan Travers, and Pancratz replaces retiring Coach Peggy Scholten. New Principals Named at Conant and Fremd High Schools

At its January 16, 2014 meeting, the Board of Education approved the appointment of Julie Nowak as principal at James B. Conant High School, and the appointment of Kurtis Tenopir at William Fremd High School.  Both appointments will be effective July 1, 2014.  Mrs. Nowak, currently High School District 211’s director of special education, will take over the principalship from Tim Cannon, who will retire after serving District 211 for 32 years, including the past nine as principal at Conant High School.  Mr. Tenopir, currently an assistant principal at Fremd High School, assumes the principalship from Lisa Small, who was recently named ...

Program Successful for Special Education’s Transition Services

As the school year comes to a close, District 211 is completing its first academic year with Transition Industries as part of its special education transition services. Transition Industries is a District 211 vocational work experience for special education students that partners with a local business. Students are placed in a vocational, real-work setting where they focus on work skill behavior with a goal of post-secondary opportunities or competitive employment.
