District 211 Awarded Motorola Innovation Grant for STEM Programs

Several students in High School District 211’s science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs (STEM) will see increased opportunities due to a recent grant that was awarded to the District. District 211 was the recipient of a $40,000 grant for Advanced Manufacturing, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), and the Biomedical Engineering: an integrated approach to foundational learning in the twenty first century. Fremd High School Math Team Students Earn Top Rankings in International, Online Math Meet

Students on the Math Team at Fremd High School proved in 90 minutes that they are tops in the state. Members of the team Benjamin Lewis, Berwin Xie, Chungho Lee, Soumyaa Mazumder, Jennie Yang, and Emily Jia, competed in the Purple Comet Math Meet and placed No.1 in Illinois and ranked top 20 in the nation. The Purple Comet Math Meet is a free, on-line, international, team mathematics competition designed for middle and high school students conducted annually since 2003.
