Schaumburg High School Debate Team Wins IHSA State Debate Championship

Schaumburg High School Debate Team students are celebrating a successful season and earning the title of state champions. The 2015 IHSA Debate State Congressional Championship team competed against over 200 competitors from more than 25 schools at the beginning of the tournament. After an elimination break, the competition was narrowed to 63 competitors. Only 16 students advanced to the final round and Schaumburg students were five of those finalists. Township High School District 211 has 18 students that were named finalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Competition. Judges will determine winners based on which finalists have the strongest combination of academic skills and achievements, extracurricular accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Four CHS Students Achieve Perfect Scores on ACT Exam, 1 SHS Student Scores Perfect SAT Exam

At its September 18, 2014 meeting, the Board of Education honored four High School District 211 students for achieving a 36, the highest possible composite score, on the ACT exam. Additionally, one student from Schaumburg High School earned a perfect score on the SAT exam. The four students are all from Conant High School, and include Glenn Huang, Kevin Chang, Reema Patel, and Caitlin Eder. This is Huang’s second time scoring a 36 on the exam. Township High School District 211 has 18 students that have been named semifinalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Competition. Semifinalists are selected based on scores on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (P.S.A.T./N.M.S.Q.T.).  William Fremd High School students Justine M. Schaumburg High School Debate Team Earns State Championship Title

The Schaumburg High School Debate Team has captured the Illinois High School Association State Debate Title for the second time in the club’s history. The whole team had great success while they competed in the IHSA Annual State Debate Tournament at the end of March at the University of Illinois - Springfield.
