Community Members Invited to Upcoming Halloween Trunk or Treat Event at Higgins Education Center

Community members are invited to a Halloween-themed event that not only allows children to “trick or treat,” but also provides valuable information about community resources. This year’s Halloween Trunk or Treat event will take place on Oct. 20 at the Higgins Education Center, 1030 W. Higgins Rd., from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event is hosted by the Higgins Education Center in partnership with the Palatine Opportunity Center, and admission is free for both children and adults. These highlights are from the Township High School District 211 Higgins Education Center Open House and Dedication that took place on Sept. 3, 2015. The building is the new home to several of the District’s special education programs designed to meet the needs of our students and community. ICompete Program Fundraiser to Benefit Youth in Palatine Community

An upcoming event will be a tasty, aromatic, and informative way for those who are 21 years of age and up to raise funds for the ICompete program, which benefits underserved youth in the Palatine community. A wine tasting fundraiser will take place at The Wine Cellar, 361 W. Northwest Highway, from 6 until 8 p.m. on Jan. 17. All proceeds from the event and 10 percent of the store’s sales will be donated to ICompete’s youth programs. Palatine High School is one of five ICompete partners, and many volunteers for the program are students.
