D211 Post: Two District 211 Students Named Schaumburg Township District Library Student Advisory Trustees

           For the past 10 years, the Board of Trustees at the Schaumburg Township District Library has selected two individuals between the ages of 15 and 19 to serve in the role of Student Advisory Trustees whose role it is to serve as representatives to their peers.  This year’s Student Advisory Trustees are District 211 students Alisa Gandhi from James B. D211 Post: District 211 Schools Claim Two of Top Three Girls Bowling Titles

            Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg High Schools’ girls bowling teams captured second and third place following the Illinois High School Association’s state bowling finals in Rockford Feb. 16-17.             Hoffman Estates took second place with a team average of 194.9 and finished just 419 pins behind state champion Harlem High School.  Senior Alexis Orwat finished 4th overall with a series average of 212.3             The Hawks bowlers were honored with an assembly at the school ...

          Members of Schaumburg High School’s fishing club had the opportunity to experience ice fishing for the first time Jan. 18.  14 members of the club, which was formed earlier this year, caught a total of 10 bass on the ice at Sunrise Outdoor Education Center in Bartlett.             Chris Evert, the faculty advisor to the fishing club, said when he formed the club, the response from the students surprised him.             “This is much bigger than I thought,” Evert said.  “We had ...

D211 Post: Schaumburg High School Raises Funds for Damaged Texas School

                        Students at Schaumburg High School celebrated homecoming week by creating a variety fund raisers which raised $2,000 which was sent to Cimarron Elementary School in Katy, Texas.              Cimarron Elementary was chosen due to its unique tie to a member of the Schaumburg faculty.  Mr. Scott Byrne, a math teacher at Schaumburg, has a daughter who teaches 3rd grade teacher in Katy.
