District 211 schools and its students, athletes, and community members can officially look forward to a long-range capital improvement project that will update the most heavily utilized facility within each building. The Purpose of Required Life Safety Work in District 211

District 211 facilities and buildings are required to maintain State Board of Education regulations within the School Building Code and the Health Life Safety Code, in addition to occupational safety standards of the Illinois Department of Labor. These codes are maintained and regulated through Life safety projects. Township High School District 211 is continuing work on its Life Safety Projects in accordance with these codes. During the summer months, facility improvements are made across the District, as well as several administrative changes. Summer provides a perfect time for facility improvements because classrooms are generally empty and summer school locations are determined partly around building improvement plans. There are regular projects that are conducted each summer throughout the District, such as asphalt and concrete work. In addition to regular maintenance, each District 211 school will have wood floors refinished and carpet replaced.
