Palatine, Schaumburg Girls’ Volleyball Teams to Compete for Annual ‘Spike Out Cancer’ Event

The girls volleyball programs from Palatine High School and Schaumburg High School are teaming up to raise funds in the fight against cancer in the community. The two schools will be competing in the PHS Girls’ Volleyball program’s 4th annual fundraising game for this year’s Spike Out Cancer event, hosted by the Pirates at Palatine High School, 1111 N. The third annual Volley for the Cure will return to Palatine on Oct. 1. Fremd and Palatine girls’ volleyball will be competing in a Volley for the Cure match, which will be dedicated to all the men and women who have been affected by breast cancer with hopes that this devastating disease will one day be cured. Palatine High School Hosts Volley for the Cure, Raises $2,476 for Breast Cancer Research

On Oct. 2, the Palatine High School Girls Volleyball Program hosted the Hoffman Estates Hawks during a regular season mid-suburban league volleyball match. The match was dedicated to all the men and women who have been touched by breast cancer in hope that this devastating disease will one day be cured. During the match, the Pirates hosted the Volley for the Cure fundraiser, played annually between these two teams. Funds were raised through admission sales, a bake sale, a prize raffle and a 50/50 raffle. The players also sold Volley for the Cure wristbands before the event.
