Township High School District 211 schools are preparing to host annual Parent Open Houses. William Fremd, James B. Conant, Hoffman Estates, Palatine, and Schaumburg High Schools will hold Parent Open Houses on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Parents are invited to follow shortened versions of their child’s schedule (10- to 14- minute segments) as well as take part in other special activities and events. The District’s two alternative schools, District 211 North Campus and Higgins Education Center, also will host open houses on August 29.
Hoffman Estates High School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new AP Support Center which is designed as a resource area for students taking Advanced Placement courses. The Center was funded through grants and donations from Heart of America Foundation and Eon Clinics.
HEHS Principal Josh Schumacher said the Center provides a space for students to collaborate with teachers and fellow students.
Traditionally High School District 211 uses the summer break which starts in late May and continues through early August for various construction projects to improve its facilities. Over the past three years, one south-side school has been closed for summer break to allow for larger facility and site improvement projects.
