Community Members Invited to Upcoming Job, Resource Fair
The School and Community Connections Event is a resource and job fair open to all District 211 community members. The event will take place on April 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Higgins Education Center, 1030 W. Higgins Rd.
“The resource and job fair is our commitment to coordinate community resources and engage skilled staff, service providers, and volunteers,” said Jerry Treviño, District 211 director of summer school and community outreach. “The purpose is to provide direct services and referrals to those who are seeking a gateway into community life and an improved future.”
The goal of the event is to inform families of various social service supports available within the community. Attendees will learn about academic empowerment for Math and English, as well as learn about job opportunities within the community.
The following social agencies will have representatives at the fair:
State Representative Michelle Mussman’s Office; Township of Schaumburg; Schaumburg Library; The Harbour, Plaza Communitaria, The Bridge; Hoffman Estates Health and Human Services; Fellowship Housing; Access to Care, PHD Counseling Center; Harper College; Hoffman Bank and Trust; St. Mary’s Services; and more.
The following employers will be present at the job fair:
Acres Group – Landscaping; Ensemble of Care; Hoffman Estates Park District; Manor Care; Manpower; McDonalds ( 2 locations); Schaumburg Park District; 1-800-Got Junk; and Harper College.
