As District 211 continues with its summer calendar, work has commenced on multiple construction projects in its buildings.  All projects currently underway are part of the scheduled updates approved by the Board of Education.

The majority of projects underway this summer are at William Fremd High School.  In what will be the most noticeable update in the school, all locker rooms are being renovated to include updated HVAC and plumbing, ADA accessible spaces and updated changing and shower locations.  The school is also undergoing structural work behind the auditorium including slab replacement as well as upgrades to the applied technology HVAC systems.

Outside of Conant High School, teams have been working to complete stadium field turf replacement and track resurfacing. As part of the project, the long jump and triple jump pits and runway have been removed and are currently being replaced.  Crews have added inserts for time clocks and lacrosse safety nets to the field as well.  Inside the school, work is nearly completed on a new flight style dish machine in the cafeteria kitchen and    the installation of two new chillers and associated work is under way.

The culinary arts classroom overhaul at Palatine High School is proceeding with under floor work and in-wall updates almost complete with interior build out starting soon.  The school has also had a sectional roof replacement.

At Schaumburg High School, crews have been working on a boiler replacement as well as doing a variety of masonry renovations including tuck-pointing.  The school is also having a sections of the roof replaced as part of scheduled upgrades and maintenance.

Security improvements to the vestibules located in the main school entrances continue across the District.  Palatine High School, Fremd High School and Schaumburg High School will be complete prior to the start of the upcoming school year. Improvements include more secured entrance into the schools. Hoffman Estates High School and Conant High School were completed last school year.

Across the District, multiple schools have had their gym floors refinished, sections of carpet replacements, paving repairs and modernization of elevators.
