D211 Transition Services to Host Annual ‘Future Begins Today’ Event


Township High School District 211’s Transition Services Department is hosting the 10th annual informational event “The Future Begins Today.”

“The Future Begins Today” is an informational evening for parents and guardians of individuals with a wide-range of Developmental Disabilities. Information is being provided from over 50 adult service providers and community resource agencies.

The event will take place on April 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Rd. Registration begins at 5:45 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend the Transition Resource Fair, which includes resources for job skill training, post-secondary education options, financial planning, self-advocacy, and more. There will also be two breakout sessions. Sessions include “Regional Options for Post-Secondary Education,” and “SSI, SSDI, DHS – Understanding the Alphabet Soup of Government Benefits.”
