The Fremd Student Council is inviting students ages 12 and under and parents to attend the annual Halloween Festival held at Fremd High School on Oct. 26 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The school has been transformed for a fun night of trick-or-treating with games, toys, and candy. FHS is a proud teal pumpkin supporter, so there are plenty of prizes for all children.

All children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Additionally, Student Council will also be trick or treating for canned goods to benefit the Palatine Township Food Pantry. A food collection bin will be available in the cafeteria upon entering the school.

Palatine High School will host its annual free Trick or Treat with Pirate Pete event on Oct. 27 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Rd. Children aged ten and under, and accompanied by an adult, are invited to attend the free annual celebration of the fall season. Students from a variety of Palatine High School clubs, organizations, programs, and athletic teams will staff the event. The gym and cafeteria will have a large selection of carnival type games for the children to play.

Classrooms throughout the first floor of the school will be decorated using themes. Each classroom has a sign outside letting parents know if the room is “scary” or “not scary” for the children. Many treats will be handed out at the event.

At Schaumburg High School, the Students Helping Others (SHO) Club has collected cans on Halloween for the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry for the past 15 years. Last year, the club collected a record amount of food donations. While SHO is not running this year, the National Honor Society is continuing this activity. Students and faculty will collect again on Oct. 31 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the community. Preferred foods include: canned meats, canned pastas, soup, juices, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, bar soap, Kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, cereals, canned fruit, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, salt, pepper, flour, sugar, Spaghetti-o’s, Hamburger Helper, Rice-a-Roni, snacks and lunchboxes.
