Hoffman Estates High School Prepares for Cupcakes and a Cause

Hoffman Estates High School students, staff, and community members can most likely be found joining forces and baking this week to prepare for the annual Cupcakes and a Cause event on Oct. 20. More than 1,000 people attended the event last year at HEHS and 9,000 cupcakes were sold. This year, the event is combining efforts from the entire school. The proceeds go to the HEHS Special Olympics team, in addition to Autism Speaks, a national autism awareness organization. Delicious Success at Cupcakes for a Cause

Hours of baking more than 9,000 Cupcakes that resembled shapes of flowers and characters like the Cookie Monster paid off as the delicious works of art raised money for autism awareness.  Community members collaborated for Cupcakes for a Cause at Hoffman Estates High School, and raised more than $13,000 for the Schaumburg chapter of Autism Speaks, with $3500  of that going to Special Olympics and Best Buddies Clubs, on April 7.
