District 211 Schools Extend Media Center Hours for AP Preparation

Starting this week, District 211 schools have extended media center hours and special studying sessions to help students prepare for Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Below is a list of each school’s schedule and events.   Fremd High School will have extended hours Monday through Thursday from May 1 – May 4 and May 8 – May 11. Cougars Announce New Head Boys Basketball Coach

Jim Maley has been named head boys basketball coach at James B. Conant High School, effective with the 2017-2018 season.  Maley takes over the program from long-time head coach Tom McCormack, who is retiring after 33 years as head coach, 32 years at Conant High School.  McCormack has a 576-342 (.627 winning pct.) all-time record, including 13 seasons with 20-plus wins, and his teams have made two “Elite 8” appearances, and have five Mid-Suburban League titles. “In looking for a new coach, we knew we had very big shoes to fill,” said Conant High School Principal Julie Nowak.  “Coach Maley brings a ...

Tickets are now on sale for the 3rd Annual Conant Community Social. Recent Career Internship Fair Connects District 211 Students to Local Companies

Township High School District 211 recently hosted an internship fair for students to meet with representatives from local companies searching for high school interns. The Career Trek Internship Fair took place at Schaumburg High School on April 12. Approximately 37 companies interested in hiring high school interns attended and many hoped to hire students that day. Community Invited to Attend SHS’ Spring Musical ‘Big Fish’

Schaumburg High School is proud to present this year’s spring musical, "Big Fish."     The community is invited to attend the musical featuring great acting, amazing costumes, beautiful singing, and a lot of incredible dancing.  Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 20, 21 and 22, at  7 p.m., in the Schaumburg High School auditorium. Community Invited to Palatine High School Variety Show April 20, 21, 22

The annual Palatine High School Variety Show will take place on April 20, 21, and 22 at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Rd. The family event is open to the community. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults. Palatine High School students have worked to create a show that will make the audience sing, dance, and laugh in their seats. Upcoming ‘The Future Begins Today’ Event, Harper College Informational Meeting to Help Special Education Families Transition

Township High School District 211’s Transition Services Department has upcoming events that will help families transition between high school and post-secondary life. Harper College will host an informational meeting for parents and students about services and accommodations for students with disabilities on a 504 Plan or IEP. The event will take place on April 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Harper College, Building J, Room 143.
