D211 Post: District 211 Schools among the Top in U.S. News and World Report

U.S. News and World Report released its annual Top Schools Report on April 21.  Township High School District 211 was well represented with all five schools placing among the top 15 percent of schools both within the state of Illinois, as well as nationally.

Leading District 211 schools was Fremd High School which ranked 19th in Illinois.  Conant and Schaumburg High Schools were very close, coming in at 46th and 50th in the state, respectively.  Hoffman Estates came in next at 76th in Illinois, with Palatine rounding out the District 211 schools at 104th in the state.

In creating the ranking, the publication looked at a variety of criteria including a school’s math and reading proficiency, college curriculum breadth, and college readiness.

District 211 Superintendent Dr. Dan Cates said the high performance of the District reflects the District’s caring staff members and extraordinary opportunities for any student.

“Our staff members are exceptional in their ability to engage students in learning, both in and out of the classroom,” he said.  “By offering countless activities, clubs and athletics, every student has an opportunity to connect with our staff and with the school community.  Connections always make the difference.”
