District 211 Faculty Visit mHUB Facility in Chicago

To continue maximizing opportunities for District 211 students in manufacturing and entrepreneurship, District 211 strives to finds various ways to connect its students with real-world experience. District 211 teachers were invited to tour a new facility in Chicago called mHUB on Oct. 25. HEHS Students Conduct Research At Argonne National Laboratory as part of Exemplary Student Research Program

A group of students at Hoffman Estates High School received the opportunity of a lifetime to conduct research at Argonne National Laboratory. Hoffman Estates High School Senior Dillon Vadgama, juniors Harpreet Auby, Jill Prigge, Miraj Shah, and sophomores Allison Schrader and Matt Vlasaty, participated in the Argonne Exemplary Student Research Program (ESRP). The group was invited to use the laboratory for 24 hours to conduct research. Only 11 high schools participated in the program. HEHS Engineering Students Earn First Place, Chance to Compete in International ROV Competition

Students at Hoffman Estates High School saw several months of hard work pay off when they earned first place at a underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) competition at the Shedd Aquarium, and a spot to compete internationally. The Hawks Engineering Team won the Marine Advanced Technology Education Center (MATE) Midwest Regional ROV Competition held at the Shedd Aquarium on April 25.  The team consists of Junior Dillon Vadgama, Junior Grace Wilkins, Sophomore Miraj Shah, Senior Laura Turf, and Senior Thomas Schaefer. Hoffman Estates High School Students Build the Way to Second Place in National Engineering Contest

Students at Hoffman Estates High School took their dreams of building a miniature chocolate factory and not only turned them into reality, but also an award-winning complex machine at both the local and national level. Two HEHS teams participated in the Argonne National Laboratory's 18th Annual Rube Goldberg Machine Contest held at Argonne National Laboratory on March 11. One of the teams took first place and moved on to compete in the National High School Rube Goldberg Machine Championship at Waukesha County Technical College on March 16.
